What sccid does

Snap appends the click ID (you will see it capitalized as ScCid in the wild) to swipe-ups and ad clicks leaving Snapchat. The destination's Snap Pixel captures it and attaches it to the events it reports back, directly or through Snap's Conversions API.

Snap's documentation recommends passing it with server-side events to improve match rates, meaning the tie between your purchase and your Snapchat identity.

Is it safe to remove?

Yes. Attribution-only; pages render identically without it.

Remove sccid automatically

Rather's Link Shortener strips sccid and hundreds of parameters like it, right in the address bar and in everything you copy or share. Free, open source, no account, no data collection, and the page you are on never breaks: the cleanup happens after the site has already loaded.
